Terms of Use

Last updated July 27, 2026. By signing up for a list or subscribing, you're agreeing to these terms. Read the parts about billing and cancellation before you enter a card number.

What Admissions Distilled is

Admissions Distilled sends curated, subscription-based mailing lists covering US college admissions: financial aid, scholarships, rankings, internships, and related topics. It's informational content written by our editors, not personalized admissions counseling, legal advice, financial advice, or a guarantee of any outcome, including acceptance to any school or receipt of any aid or scholarship.

Who can subscribe

The lists are aimed at students, parents, and counselors. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian should complete the signup and handle payment. By entering payment details, you're confirming you're authorized to use that payment method.

Free trials, billing, and cancellation

By entering payment details at signup, you agree to these terms: open lists start with a 2-week free trial from the date you sign up. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your card is charged the listed price automatically, and the subscription renews and bills automatically every month after that until you cancel. This is your notice of that recurring charge; we don't send a separate one before each renewal.

Seat-capped lists

Some lists cap the number of subscribers. If a list is full, you can't subscribe until a seat opens, usually because someone else cancels. Canceling your own subscription to a capped list gives up your seat; there's no guarantee of getting it back.

Waiting lists

Signing up for a list marked "coming soon" doesn't create a subscription or charge you anything. It puts your information on a list we use to notify you when that list opens, at which point you decide separately whether to subscribe.

Acceptable use

The content we send is for your own personal or family use. Don't redistribute, resell, or republish it, scrape or bulk-download it, or use the signup form to submit false information or someone else's details without permission.

No outcome guarantees

Admissions decisions, financial aid awards, and scholarship results are made entirely by the institutions and organizations involved, not by us. Nothing we send is a promise or guarantee about your application, your aid package, or any other outcome.

Third-party services

Payment is handled entirely by Stripe under its own terms of service. Using our checkout means you're also agreeing to Stripe's terms for that transaction.

Changes and availability

We can add, change, or discontinue a list, adjust pricing for new subscribers, or update these terms. If we materially change the terms of an active subscription, we'll tell you before it takes effect. We can suspend or cancel an account for abuse, fraud, chargebacks, or violation of these terms.

Limitation of liability

The content is provided as is. To the extent allowed by law, we're not liable for decisions you make based on it, or for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or subscriptions.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
